Concussions

At Cherry Creek Pediatrics, we understand that each concussion is unique and has a spectrum of severity and types of symptoms, which may overlap with other medical conditions.  According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, an estimated 1.1 million to 1.9 million U.S. children and teens are treated for a recreational or sport-related concussion every year, and yet the true number likely remains underreported.  WIth effective management of your child's concussion, our health care providers can help to shorten recovery time and potentially reduce the risk of long-term symptoms and complications that interefere with school, social life, family relationships and emotional well-being.  If your child is being seen for a concussion, please fill out the appropriate SCAT form and bring it to their appointment.  You can also find our Return to Play Protocol here to provide to your child's coach or athletic trainer.
